* weekend trip to batam*
2d 1n Batam trip16 jun 06*seeweed* m feelin so happy cuz it's my 2nd time goin on trip wif chonglin .. Still rem e 1st we went was durin our poly grad trip to genting-sunway lagoon together wif merf eugene francis n gerald .. Hmmm dis time round it's a new combination. . Bb n i + chonglin n daniel .. of cuz i dun hav to mention..i'm oso extremely excited cuz it's lovelytwo 5th time going away thou it's onli a 45 min ferry ride away frm singapore..Ke ke ..
Chonglin n bf take charge of e hotel bookin whereas bb n i in charge of changing $.. As usual bb n i wld go to boon lay shoppin centre cuz there's a lot of money changers there n oso so far we hav been gettin good rate over..so as to date, the exchange rate is $1 to 5780 rupiah . .
oki time now is 955am . . Chonglin n couple is handlin e check in procedures. .they're queuin up at the counter-batam fast . . bb n i look after our bags..everything is settled..waitin to board e ferry at 1020am. . Poor bb he's not feelin well since yest..he got sore throat n tink he 'gam tio 'le . . So dis morn bb make ai xin honey for him to take . .but some medicine n bitter tea (gu cha) for him to drink..hope they will make it feel better..
time to board our ferry...wah quite warm cuz no seat. . So we at e upper deck..wah say it's non air-con kaoz cant stand those ppl ard me puffin poisonous gas at me..time nw is 11am..we're leavin singapore for batam le..bye singapore hello batam..keke
Hooray we reach batam at 12 noon .. welcome by our guide to send us to our hotel..we're nw in a mini van together with two aunties n a uncle..they stayed at island garden whereas ours is goodway hotel..rated 4-star..location quite luxurious, convenient n central to most of the big shoppin mall..
http://www.goodwayhotel.comthen after checkin in..we juz roam ard w/o a detailed map on hand cuz e hotel doesnt hav one..so along e way..we saw a 5-star hotel..so we went in n ask for directions..we were directed e way to robinsons..it's abt 15 min frm our hotel..
we had lunch @ a so-called fast-food restaurant..but waited quite long for my chicken chop..bb ordered soto ayam set, chonglin- meat ball set n daniel chicken rice..hehe..daniel felt tat their chicken r reali veri pathetic..super e small..haha..so overall e food wasnt tat fantastic..there arent much to shop here so we went over to ramayana (nex to robinsons)..oki..another shoppin centre whereby
one can purchase a lot of household items there..so do u tink it's meant for us?..then we proceeded to Plaza Top 100 (nex to ramayana)..finally managed to get 2 mini children tables for 26500 rupiah each . . Kawaii nei . .got winnie e pooh n minnie n mickey design..haha..dun say i'm childish oki..
e four of us decided to go for some watersports..so we decided to head back to hotel to drop our stuff..
time now is 4pm (local time). . We're on e way to waterfront city ( oso known as marina city).. We took
ba wang che instead of taxi for 40000 rupiah .. ask a lot of locals abt e taxi rate..they arent quite sure either..so we decided to quote a lower rate then bargain frm there to avoid bein 'kan'..
abt 20min later, we reach our destination. .e rates r all stated in sin $..got banana boat, parasailin, jet ski, wakeboardin etc..but all quite x..so we decided to play jet ski @ $45 for 2 for 20min . . but it was quite cool..e person-in-charge led us to quite distance . . Imagine e feelin ridin a jet ski across e big blue sea . . No other word to describe but shiok. .
*grrrrr* u hear tat? our stomach is growlin..we asked e person in charge whether she had any recommedation on good n cheap places for seafood . .

A1 at nagoya? nagoya is where our hotel is located. . so we decided to choose A1.. after bargainin e taxi rate again wif a few taxi drivers..all wanna slaughter us (note: do not board taxis frm any hotels..cuz e rate is double to triple) juz walk along e road n u hav so many taxis n
ba wang che hornin at u..so we finally settled at e return trip rate tat is 40000 rupiah . .
it's onli 630pm n e sky is quite dark oredi . . we're all veri hungry le. . yes it's time to eat le..there's quite alot of stalls (zi cha) n other stalls tat sell bah kut teh etc..we dunno which one to choose . . So we chose 88. . didnt noe it was actuali a wrong decision made..*sob* e food servin is small n couldnt even filled up half of my tummy..haha..it's edible lah but i wldnt say it's delicious..juz passable ba..after eating..we walked to a nearby shoppin centre..dunno wat it is called ..after tat we still hav abt 2 hrs to shop b4 all e shops r going to close le. . so we decided to go to BCS penuin by taxi at 15000 rupiah .. BCS is one of a newly built shoppin centre. . i tink it's e biggest mall n e shops there r definitely newer n more in la i wld say..better than all e previous ones we went durin e day so far . . managed to get e orange tape tat i been wantin for my orange group. . So happy. . thx bb for spottin them for me..nearby there's another Plaza Tp 100 but it almost closin le. . So it's time to go back to our hotel...Again approach by drivers, after much bargainin wif another
ba wang che driver we settled for 10000 rupiah . .
17 jun 06Wake up at 630am(local time ). Then proceeded to hav our breakfast at e hotel café. . After tat we went back to our room to do our big business b4 headin to pool for a dip in e pool. .there's sauna n jacuzzi too . . Then we went to their fitness centre . . Wanna play table tennis but no ping pong ball . . So we went to e gym for some workout phototakin session..
Had a quick shower b4 we head off to diamond city (dc mall) . . Took cab for 10000 rupiah. . Another new shoppin centre which is quite near to ramayana. . Hmmm nothin much bought some stationary stuff again he he . . Then we need to rush back to hotel cuz e van is comin to pick us up 1pm .. As our departure time is 415pm we still hav abt 2hrs to shop at mega mall batam centre . .
Oki i must say so far it's e best one in batam . . Bcs 2nd . . Bb n i managed to get some polo tees n we had tea break @ A&W. .so bye bye time now is 430 e ferry is movin off le bye batam. . Hello singapore i'm comin back :)
